The Basics

What is a Vehicle Access Control System?

A vehicle access control system manages which vehicles can enter or exit a property. It combines a physical barrier (boom barrier, road blocker or bollard) with an identification method (RFID tag, ANPR camera, remote or guard verification) so authorized vehicles pass smoothly while unauthorized vehicles are stopped.

Manual gates and registers slow down residents, frustrate visitors and depend entirely on the guard’s attention. An automated system removes the guesswork: registered vehicles are recognized in seconds, every entry is logged with time and identity, and your barrier becomes an active security layer instead of a formality.

From a single society gate to multi-lane corporate entrances with crash-rated road blockers, ASG engineers the complete system: identification, barrier, verification and monitoring, delivered and supported by one team.

Vehicle Control Hardware We Install

Every entrance has a different traffic volume and threat level. We match the hardware to both.

Automatic Boom Barriers

Fast electro-mechanical barriers for societies, offices, plazas and toll points. Arm lengths up to 8 meters, loop detectors, anti-collision safety and manual release on power failure.

Hydraulic Road Blockers

Anti-ramming wedge barriers for embassies, banks, defense and critical infrastructure. Crash-rated options that physically stop hostile vehicles.

Rising Bollards

Automatic, semi-automatic and fixed bollards that secure entrances without blocking pedestrian flow. Clean look for corporate and public spaces.

Tyre Killers (Spike Barriers)

One-way and two-way spike systems that enforce direction of travel and instantly stop unauthorized entry attempts.

Under Vehicle Scanning (UVSS)

High-resolution scanning of the vehicle underside at entry lanes for threat and contraband detection at high-security sites.

Automatic Gates

Sliding and swing gate motors for residential and industrial entrances, fully integrated with access readers and intercoms.

How Your System Recognizes Vehicles

UHF RFID Tags

A windshield tag is read from several meters away and the barrier opens before the car even stops. The gold standard for residents and staff.

ANPR Cameras

Number plate recognition tuned for Pakistani plates. No tags needed, ideal for visitor management and logging every vehicle.

Remote and Keypad

Simple controlled entry for small sites, contractors and service lanes.

Guard Console

A desk controller with camera feed gives your guard final authority over any lane.

RFID vs ANPR, Which One Does Your Site Need?

Criteria UHF RFID ANPR
Best for Residents, staff, fleet vehicles Visitors, logging, tag-free entry
Speed Reads at full approach speed, no stopping Near-instant at gate speeds
Security Encrypted tags, very hard to clone Plates can be faked, best paired with verification
Recurring cost Tag per vehicle No per-vehicle cost
Our recommendation: Most societies and campuses perform best with both: RFID for members, ANPR for visitors and records.

From Approach to Entry in Seconds

1

Identify

The RFID reader or ANPR camera recognizes the vehicle as it approaches the lane.

2

Verify

The controller checks the vehicle against your authorized list and logs the event with time and photo.

3

Open

The barrier, blocker or bollard operates automatically. Loop detectors prevent it from closing on a vehicle.

4

Record

Every entry and exit is stored with full history, searchable by plate, tag, lane and time.

Controlled Entry for Every Type of Site

Housing Societies

Tag-based resident entry, visitor logging and gate discipline without queues.

Corporate Offices and Plazas

Staff RFID lanes, visitor ANPR and parking integration.

Banks and Embassies

Crash-rated road blockers, bollards and UVSS for hostile vehicle mitigation.

Factories and Warehouses

Truck scheduling lanes, weighbridge coordination and fleet tracking.

Airports and Ports

Multi-lane, high-throughput access proven at national scale.

Hospitals and Universities

Smooth entry for thousands of daily vehicles with full records.

Defense and Government

High-security entry points built to strict specifications.

Hotels and Malls

Welcoming entrances that still control and count every vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price of a boom barrier or vehicle access system in Pakistan?

Cost depends on the barrier type, lane count and identification method. A single boom barrier with remote control is an entry-level budget, while RFID or ANPR lanes and crash-rated road blockers are larger investments. ASG provides a free site survey and an itemized quotation so you only pay for what your entrance actually needs.

Should we choose RFID tags or ANPR cameras for our housing society?

For most societies the best answer is both. RFID windshield tags give residents non-stop entry, while ANPR records every visitor vehicle without issuing tags. If budget allows only one, RFID is usually the better start for member convenience, with ANPR added later for visitor logging.

What happens during a power failure?

Every system we install includes a manual release or hand pump so the barrier can be operated by hand, and we can add UPS backup so your entrance keeps running automatically through outages, which matters in Pakistan.

Can the system stop a vehicle that tries to force entry?

A standard boom barrier controls flow but is not designed to stop a ramming vehicle. For that we install hydraulic road blockers, rising bollards or tyre killers, which physically stop hostile vehicles. Our survey identifies which points on your site justify that level of protection.

Can you integrate with our existing cameras, guards and parking system?

Yes. We integrate barriers with existing CCTV for visual verification, give guards a console with override authority, and connect entry data to parking management for counting and billing. Your current investment is extended, not replaced.

How long does installation take?

A single boom barrier lane is typically operational within 2 to 3 days including civil works. Multi-lane sites with RFID, ANPR and road blockers usually take 1 to 3 weeks. Your quotation includes a clear timeline before work begins.
