Access control system
What is an access control and visitor management system?
An access control system decides who can enter which door, gate or floor, and when. A visitor management system does the same for guests, contractors and deliveries.
Instead of keys and paper registers, employees use a fingerprint, face, RFID card or mobile phone. Readers check each credential against the rules you set, open doors, turnstiles or lifts for authorised people, and record every entry and exit. Visitors are pre-registered, checked in at reception or a kiosk, given a time-limited badge and signed out automatically.
For offices, factories, banks, hospitals, universities and housing societies in Pakistan, this means lost keys are no longer a risk, unauthorised people are kept out, and management gets accurate attendance and visitor reports.
Access control answers three questions for every door: who is this, are they allowed here right now, and what happened. Everything else follows from those answers.
How it works
How an access control door works
Watch two people arrive. The employee’s card is valid, so the door opens and the entry is logged. The second card is not, so the door stays locked and the attempt is recorded.
- PresentThe user shows a card, finger, face or phone at the reader.
- VerifyThe controller checks the credential against schedules, zones and rules.
- DecideAuthorised users are let in. Everyone else is refused and the door stays locked.
- LogEvery grant and denial is saved for reports, attendance and investigations.
What we install
Access control solutions we install in Pakistan
Ten proven technologies, grouped the way we design them, so every door, lobby, lift and visitor follows the same rules.
CredentialsIdentification and credentials
How people prove who they are at the door.
Biometric systems
Fingerprint, face recognition and palm readers that cannot be lent, lost or copied, ideal for high-security rooms and attendance.
RFID and smart card systems
Proximity and encrypted smart cards, key fobs and stickers (EM, MIFARE and DESFire) for fast, low-cost access at every door.
Mobile credentials
Smartphones as secure digital keys over Bluetooth, NFC or QR, issued and revoked remotely in seconds.
Door access control
Controllers, electromagnetic and electric strike locks, exit buttons and door sensors that secure every office, server room and store.
EntrancesTurnstiles, speed gates and lifts
Physical barriers that let one authorised person through at a time.
Turnstiles
Tripod and full-height turnstiles for factories, stadiums, universities and staff gates, with anti-passback and emergency free-fall.
Speed gates and flap barriers
Elegant glass lanes for corporate lobbies and hospitals, opening in under a second, with wide lanes for wheelchairs and deliveries.
Elevator integration
Card or face readers in the lift limit each person to the floors they are allowed to visit, including visitors and cleaning staff.
ManagementVisitors, attendance and central management
The software that turns doors into one managed system.
Visitor management
Pre-registration, QR invitations, CNIC scanning, photo badges, host notifications and automatic check-out for every guest.
Staff attendance integration
Every entry and exit becomes a time record, with shifts, late arrivals, overtime and export to HR and payroll software.
Centralised access management
One web platform for all doors, gates, lifts and branches, with access levels, schedules, alarms and audit reports.

From fingerprint readers to elevator control, here is how each part of an ASG access control system works in daily use.
Compare
Biometric vs RFID card vs mobile credentials
Most sites use a mix. We recommend the right credential for each door, based on security level, traffic and budget.
| Feature | Biometric (finger / face) | RFID card or fob | Mobile credential |
|---|---|---|---|
| Security | Very high: cannot be shared or copied | Good, higher with encrypted smart cards | High: encrypted, protected by phone lock |
| Speed | Under 1 second | Instant tap | Tap or hands-free at a distance |
| Cost per user | No card cost | Low card or fob cost | No card cost, licence per user |
| Lost or forgotten | Not possible | Common, block and reissue | Rare, revoke remotely |
| Best for | Attendance, server rooms, labs, banks | Offices, hostels, factories, societies | Modern offices, co-working, multi-site teams |

FAQs
Access control and visitor management FAQs
Answers to the questions we hear most from HR, admin and security managers.
What is an access control system?
An access control system uses readers, credentials, locks and software to decide who can enter which doors, gates, turnstiles or lifts and when. It opens for authorised people, keeps others out and records every entry and exit.
What is the price of an access control system in Pakistan?
The cost depends on the number of doors, the type of readers (RFID, biometric or face), locks and door hardware, turnstiles or speed gates, software licences, cabling and integration with attendance or CCTV. ASG Systems provides a detailed quotation after a free site survey.
Which is better, biometric or RFID card access?
Biometric access is more secure because fingerprints and faces cannot be shared or lost, which also makes attendance accurate. RFID cards are faster and cheaper per door and suit high-traffic entrances. Many sites use cards at general doors and biometrics at sensitive rooms.
Can the access control system also record staff attendance?
Yes. Every entry and exit can be used as an attendance record, with shifts, late arrivals, overtime and leave, and exported to HR and payroll software.
What is a visitor management system?
A visitor management system replaces the paper register at reception. Visitors are invited in advance, check in with a QR code or CNIC scan, receive a time-limited badge and are signed out automatically, while their host is notified on arrival.
What is the difference between a turnstile and a speed gate?
A tripod turnstile uses rotating arms and is rugged and cost-effective for factories, stadiums and staff gates. A speed gate uses glass wings that open in under a second and suits premium lobbies, hospitals and offices where appearance and throughput matter.
Can I use my mobile phone instead of an access card?
Yes. Mobile credentials let staff open doors with their smartphone over Bluetooth, NFC or QR. Keys are encrypted and can be issued or revoked remotely in seconds.
What happens to doors during a fire or power failure?
Doors are connected to the fire alarm so they release automatically for safe evacuation, and emergency break-glass units are fitted. Controllers and locks run on battery or UPS backup during load shedding, so security continues.
Can access be restricted to certain floors in a lift?
Yes. With elevator integration, readers in the lift only enable the floor buttons a person is allowed to visit, including temporary floor access for visitors.
Can one system manage offices in different cities?
Yes. Centralised access management lets you control doors, users and reports for all branches from one secure web platform, with local admins where needed.
