Overview
Executive Summary
The Lahore School of Economics (LSE) is one of Lahore’s established university campuses, with an extensive boundary surrounding its academic blocks and campus grounds. In 2016, LSE engaged ASG Systems Pakistan to design and install a high voltage electric fence along the full length of the campus perimeter.
ASG Systems Pakistan delivered 1.8 kilometers of high voltage electric fencing around the LSE campus boundary, adding a dedicated physical and electronic deterrent against unauthorised entry, on top of the campus’s existing perimeter wall.
The brief
The Challenge
A university campus with an extended open boundary faces a continuous security challenge. LSE needed to strengthen its existing boundary without relying only on security staff covering the full perimeter around the clock:
- A wall or railing alone does not stop a determined intrusion attempt.
- Manual patrols cannot watch every meter of an extended campus perimeter at all times.
- The campus needed a solution that deters and detects intrusion attempts at the boundary itself.
- Protection had to add a layer beyond the existing wall and patrol routine.
What we delivered
The Solution: 1.8 km High Voltage Perimeter Electric Fence
ASG Systems Pakistan designed and installed a continuous high voltage electric fence along the LSE campus boundary.
Component 01
High Voltage Perimeter Electric Fence — 1.8 km
ASG Systems Pakistan designed and installed 1.8 kilometers of high voltage electric fencing along the LSE campus boundary, mounted to deter and detect any attempt to climb or breach the perimeter. The fence line adds a continuous layer of electronic security across the full extent of the campus boundary.
Component 02
Energizer & Monitoring Equipment
The energizer and monitoring equipment required to power and operate the fence line were installed and tested, so campus security is alerted when the fence is disturbed.
How we did it
Implementation Approach
- 1Full boundary survey of the LSE campus perimeter.
- 2Installation of 1.8 km of high voltage electric fencing along the mapped boundary.
- 3Installation of the energizer and monitoring equipment required to power and operate the fence line.
- 4Testing of the fence line for continuity and alarm response before full system handover to campus security.
Outcome
Results & Impact
The completed installation gave the Lahore School of Economics continuous protection along its campus boundary:
- 1.8 km of the LSE campus boundary brought under continuous perimeter security.
- A physical and electronic deterrent added along the full boundary length, reducing reliance on manual patrols alone.
- A stronger overall security posture for the campus, supporting existing boundary walls and security staff.
FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the electric fence installed at the Lahore School of Economics?
ASG Systems Pakistan installed 1.8 kilometers of high voltage perimeter electric fencing around the Lahore School of Economics (LSE) campus boundary.
What year was the Lahore School of Economics perimeter fence installed?
The project was completed in 2016.
Why does a university campus need a high voltage electric fence?
A high voltage perimeter electric fence deters and detects unauthorised attempts to breach a campus boundary, giving security staff an added layer of protection beyond manual patrols and boundary walls alone.
Need perimeter security for your campus or facility?
ASG Systems Pakistan designs and installs high voltage electric fences, zone-based perimeter monitoring and complete boundary security systems for universities, corporate campuses and industrial sites across Pakistan.
