Overview
Executive Summary
Askari 10 is a large residential community in Lahore where residents’ cars, guests, delivery riders and people on foot all use the same entrances. In 2021, ASG Systems Pakistan installed a complete entry package: e-tag access for residents’ vehicles, a separate visitor lane and pedestrian security.
Residents now drive straight through, while guards spend their time on the vehicles and people that actually need checking.
The brief
The Challenge
At a busy residential gate, residents and visitors arrive mixed together, and that slows everyone down.
- Guards had to stop resident vehicles to tell them apart from visitors.
- Queues built up at the gate during morning and evening rush hours.
- Visitors needed to be checked without holding up residents.
- People on foot needed a controlled entry point of their own.
What we delivered
The Solution: E-Tag Access, a Visitor Lane and Pedestrian Security
ASG Systems Pakistan split the entrance by type of traffic, so each one gets the right level of control.
Component 01
E-Tag Vehicle Access for Residents
Residents’ vehicles carry an e-tag that the reader recognises automatically, and the barrier opens without the car having to stop.
Component 02
Dedicated Visitor Lane
Guests use their own lane, where security can check and log them without blocking residents behind.
Component 03
Pedestrian Security
A controlled pedestrian entry point means people on foot pass through the same level of security as vehicles.
How we did it
Implementation Approach
- 1Site survey of the main entrance and peak-hour traffic.
- 2Installation of e-tag readers and traffic barriers on the resident lane.
- 3Setting up a separate, staffed visitor lane.
- 4Installation of pedestrian security at the entrance.
- 5Testing with live traffic and training for the security team.
Outcome
Results & Impact
A faster gate for residents and a tighter check on everyone else.
- Residents identified automatically by e-tag, with no stop at the barrier.
- Visitors checked in their own lane, away from resident traffic.
- Pedestrian entry brought under control.
- Shorter queues at the gate in rush hours.
